Make the first public release of Yoink as a mostly-complete, very playable game. The idea is to make the first release at least as complete as the original was, and to stick to the original fairly closely. After that, future releases can continue to expand the Yoink world and enhance the gameplay. For now, the first release should at least provide the following:

  • Properly-rendered 3D scene.
  • Functioning characters, including the Heroine and the Bad Guys.
    • Original textures and animations.
    • Sounds.
    • Working physics and collision processing.
  • Food and medicine powerups.
  • Near-original HUD with status indicators and score.
  • Basic gameplay, including incoming "waves" of Bad Guys.
  • Plain intro screen with the title "Yoink."

Milestone: yoink-0.2

14 months late (12/15/10 00:00:00)

The general plans for this release include:

  • Enhanced scripting API.
  • "Achievements."
  • New Bad Guys.
  • New gameplay modes.
  • One new scene.
